Light and colour are gently manipulated in Saga Arpino's South London studio workshop to form a forthcoming installation at Department of Coffee and Social Affairs.

 

Royal College of Art trained artist Saga Arpino will be exhibiting a site specific installation 'Gatherings' at Department of Coffee and Social Affairs later this month.

Comprised of plastic lens and rods, the interlocking, prismatic, circular, creations point to the social and professional networks that have historically existed in London’s coffee shops and how coffee shops have been incubators for ideas and innovation.

Anna from Coffeesmiths Art and I called past Saga’s sundrenched South London studio yesterday afternoon to see how work was progressing and to discuss communications for the exhibition. We’re very much looking forward seeing the work installed and observing how people relate and interact with it.
